Last Sunday, Largs Girls Brigade went to the North Ayr Division Praise Service at Girdle Toll Parish Church in Irvine. We joined over 70 girls and officers from various GB companies in North Ayrshire to enjoy a time of messy church and praise. Our theme for messy church was Kings and Queens and the girls made a variety of crafts based around the Kings and Queens of the Bible.

On Tuesday night the Explorers were thinking about the changing seasons and made wonderful owls out of paper plates. The Juniors had a visitor, Laura who is a Spanish teacher and the girls brushed up on the Spanish and their French as they thought about the European Day of Language. The Brigaders were investigating the work of the Foodbank and then wrote appeals to our two churches to help us collect food to donate to the Largs Foodbank which is our charity of the year.

Here is one of the messages: "Last year nearly 100,000 of the poorest children in the UK went hungry, we don't think this is right. 1st Largs is asking you to help us collect for our local food banks. Drop off your groceries to St Johns Church hall on a Tuesday night from 7pm till 8pm - we look forward to receiving them!" Daisy & Fern, Brigaders in 1st Largs.

This Sunday is our Annual Enrolment Parade with the Boys Brigade. Girls should meet in the car park beside M and Co at 9.15am. We will parade to Clark Memorial Church and worship there. We will then parade back and the girls can be collected from Crawford St at approx. 11.15am. Girls should wear as black or as dark a skirt as possible, white polo shirt and Brigade sweatshirt. Explorers and Juniors wear white socks and black shoes and the Brigaders wear black tights and black shoes. Long hair should be tied up.

Girls Brigade is open to all girls of school age and we are welcoming new girls each week. If you know any girls who would like to come along and try GB out they will be made very welcome. For more information please phone Vicky on 686156.
