Millport's magnificent Festival of Light was a real spectacle as it showcased two of its most important and historic buildings offering a fantastic sight.
The dazzling event was part of Scotland’s Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design and took place during the popular September Illuminations weekend on the island.
The Garrison House, and The Cathedral of the Isles, Britain’s smallest cathedral, with a nave that seats just eighty people, provided the brilliant backdrop for the display.
The festival saw both buildings lit to dramatic effect, with a sound and light show projected onto the walls of Garrison House. Spectators were also able to follow a “heritage light trail” of installations created by local artists and volunteers.
Kate Newton, spokeswoman for the festival, said: "The festival went really well, despite the inclement weather, and I think we had a few hundred people walk the light trail! Iain McGreish's projection show on The Garrison was brilliant, featuring a singing Crocodile Rock, no less."
