WEST Kilbride's tennis players are putting on a volley good show as a new tennis season gets under way - and the club has struck an ace with its latest membership numbers.

The new season at West Kilbride Tennis Club starts on April 1 - and a family tennis launch party with barbecue is taking place on Saturday, April 15 at 4pm.

The Kirtonhall tennis courts, which were opened by Judy Murray in 2016, have been moving from strength to strength.

A spoksperson said: "The club has grown strongly to become one of biggest in Ayrshire since launch in 2016 with around 200 members.

"We have three high quality floodlit artificial grass courts.

"We understand that joining a new club can be daunting, but we go to great lengths to make it as easy as possible for new members to integrate and get what they want out of the club - whether that’s social or competitive tennis."

The club has a large and expanding junior section with junior teams and offers professional coaching for all levels and ages by LTA approved coach Louise Sansum.

Junior camps are taking place on April 4-6 and Mini Camps will be held on April 11-12.

There is socal tennis on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and a competitive Ayrshire doubles league which gets under way in mid April.

And the very popular box leagues are a great way for new members to integrate.
