George Wall gives his verdict on Largs Thistle's pre-season in his latest column...

I never took a game in at the weekend but did see the Largs v Greenock game last Wednesday.

I thought it was decent for the first pre-season game for both teams. Largs played the way I thought they would play with lots of energy.

I think Joe Wilton will make a difference to the team. I like they way he organises the defence, he never stops talking to them.

If my 35s team mate puts pen to paper it will be interesting to see who are first choices up front with Duffy, Ramsay. Adam and Sewell a handful for any defence.

In defence I liked the look of Corey Hughes who keeps putting in solid performances. I hope he stays clear of injury as Largs are a better team with him in the starting eleven.

A couple of great results at the weekend too against Johnstone Burgh and Maryhill and picking up a trophy along the way.

The pre-season so far seems to be going well. Next up are Dalry Thistle and Irvine Vics with both games at Barrfields.

Both games I would expect Largs to win. I suppose pre-season is not about winning but winning breeds a feel good factor that the team can take into the start of the season.

It was goals, goals, goals again at the Largs Thistle 35s sponsored by Cullis Amusements game on Friday again.

We won 8-2 at home to Glenburn in a league game. A great performance from the team. No game this week for the 35s.
