There has been excitement as reports of a whale breach on the Firth of Clyde has sparked huge interest this afternoon.

Reports suggest it may have been a minke whale which was spotted breaching at Innellan, south of Dunoon.

The Clyde Cetacean sightings Facebook page posted that the whale breach was spotted at 1.15pm in the stretch of the Firth between Wemyss Bay/Skelmorlie and Innellan.

There was another breach spotted at 1.38pm, south of the the Cloch Lighthouse, mid-channel.

There have been suggestions that it may have been a minke whale which was seen.
