In this week's delve into the archives we head back to halfway through the memorable 1980s decade. 

We head back to 1985 when Jennifer Rush had the best selling single, "The Power of Love", which spent five weeks at number-one, while Madonna had no fewer than eight top ten hits.

And American culture was very much at the heart of the 1980s with a special festival in Wemyss Bay - with the historic and beautiful railway station as the location for a dancing event, as seen in the above photo.

Largs Rotary were celebrating their 25th anniversary with a special dinner at the Seamill Hydro - and were splendidly dressed for the occasion.

Millport locals enjoyed the rare opportunity of a trip to Wee Cumbrae, and were pictured next to the historic island lighthouse on the back hills.
