Motorists are being warned of roadworks lasting for two and a half weeks on the A78 in Wemyss Bay.
The work will take place at the junction of the trunk road and Wemyss Bay Road, opposite the Co-operative Food store in the village.
Two-way temporary traffic lights will be in place on the A78 at the junction from Tuesday, December 5 until Saturday, December 22 - 24 hours a day.
Wemyss Bay Road itself will be closed at the junction.
Although the lights will be in place 24 hours a day, the works themselves will be restricted to daytime hours only.
Drivers looking to get access to Wemyss Bay Road will follow a signed diversion via Kishorn Road, Lomond Road, Ardgowan Road, Castle Road and the private Undercliffe Road.
It's the latest phase of work carried out in the Wemyss Bay area in recent weeks, with previous improvements including widening footways, improving crossings at the Ardgowan Road junction, resurfacing of the main carriageway, surface patching at Knock Castle, and improved road linings on the A78.
Trunk road maintenance firm Amey, which is carrying out the work, says local access to affected properties will be maintained throughout the duration of works.
Amey also says the work may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable, and that access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout.
