Popular Scottish folk music band The Wherries are set to perform in Skelmorlie for a fundraiser benefiting the village scouts.

In high demand, the band has performed in venues across Europe, the US and Singapore.

Their informal, engaging and offbeat style of presenting traditional Scottish folk music has appealed to audiences of all ages worldwide.

The Wherries' unique blend of traditional Celtic folk music, Clydeside humor, and abundant audience participation has earned them fans globally, from The Usher Hall in Edinburgh to venues in Texas.

The event will take place at the Skelmorlie Community Centre on Saturday, March 9.

Tickets are now available for a fun night out, which will include a raffle.

The evening will feature a pie and beans supper, and it is a 'bring your own bottle' event, restricted to attendees aged over 18.

The event will run from 7.30pm to 11pm.

For tickets, contact Akela Wylie or Scout leader Jamie Craig. More details can be found on the Skelmorlie Scout Facebook page.
