SCOTRAIL train services are returning to normal in Ayrshire after a signal fault caused disruption to services this morning.

Glasgow trains to Prestwick, Ardrossan and Largs have been affected due to the fault at Dalry, which was reported at 7.17am this morning.

ScotRail say that the issue has been fixed but some train services may still be delayed.

A ScotRail spokesperson said: "We had received reports of a signal fault which was affecting trains between Dalry and Prestwick Town, between Dalry and Largs and between Dalry and Ardrossan Harbour.

"Our staff have rectified the fault and services are now able to operate between these stations, however some services may be subject to delay."
