A CONSERVATION charity has announced plans to celebrate 50 years of its Lochwinnoch nature reserve this weekend.
In December 1973, RSPB Scotland acquired the wetland site just outside the Renfrewshire village.
Now, 50 years later, it has become one of the country's flagship nature reserves, having welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors over the years, and is preparing to celebrate the milestone this weekend.
Kids can go wild in the natural play area, walk the fairy path or bang out a tune in the acoustic play area, on Saturday, March 2.
Families can take part in a 'Big Birthday Bash' self-led activity, exploring trails and looking out for the reserve's wildlife.
This fun activity will be half-price at £1.75 per activity pack during the open day.
Parking is free throughout the day and the shop will sell hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, and snacks.
The open day is running from 9.30am-4pm.
