Late night trains to and from Largs were cancelled last night as police attended an incident close to the line between Largs and Fairlie.
The service between Largs and Kilwinning was affected between 8.42pm and 11.24pm on Tuesday, February 27, although trains could still run between Ardrossan South Beach and Kilwinning.
ScotRail issued an alert on X (formerly Twitter) at 8.42pm, stating that the train service between Largs and Kilwinning was disrupted.
NEW: The emergency services are dealing with an incident near the line in the Fairlie area. This means that we can't run any trains between Largs and Kilwinning.

The rail operator managed to organise replacement buses to call at all stops between Largs and Kilwinning while the disruption was ongoing.
And at 11.22pm, the line re-opened, allowing the 10.45pm and 11.15pm services leaving Glasgow to run all the way to Largs as normal.
