SCHOOL pupils in Largs have shown off their knowledge of Robert Burns at the school's annual celebration of the work and legacy of the Ayrshire Bard.

The influence of Burns' works continues to resonate in schools around Scotland - nowhere more so than Ayrshire, and youngsters at Largs Primary are certainly at the forefront of efforts to remember Rabbie.

And it was a hearty congratulation from the school to all the participants in their recent Burns competition as their talents shone through.

With various classic verses to choose from, including A Red, Red Rose, A Man's a Man for A' That, To a Louse, To a Mouse, Tam o' Shanter and Ae Fond Kiss, pupils paid homage in style to Scotland's national poet.

A school spokesperson said: "Well done to all of our Burns competition finalists and winners! They were amazing!"
