IT'S a busy weekend of live music in Largs with several local pubs hosting gigs and sessions in the next few days.

Sharp's Bar in Nelson Street kicks off proceedings on Friday evening with North to Abilene, and then's a trip back in time on Saturday to enjoy the era of classic rock with Dymensha, rounded off on Sunday afternoon with Danny Fisher from 2pm.

Similarly, there's a weekend triple bill in Room restaurant in Gallowgate Square.

On Friday, it is acoustic night with AndyK, and then Lauren O'Donoghue returns for a live set on Saturday evening.

And on Sunday between 3-5pm, The Upbeats will be providing their inspiring and uplifting tunes for everyone.

The choral group are almost totally made up of people from Largs and the surrounding area, with strong connections to Largs Academy through head conductor Craig Smith, who is the school's principal music teacher.

Also on Sunday, head along to The Waterside in Bath Street, for the next Stoddy's traditional session for an afternoon of traditional tunes and songs on fiddles, guitars, flutes, whistles, accordions, banjos and, occasionally, pipes.

Everyone is welcome to this friendly session which takes place from 2.30-5pm.
