The relaunch of a popular visitor attraction in Largs has been hailed as a huge success.
The Vikingar! experience at KA Leisure's facilities welcomed back visitors in time for Easter after making audio visual enhancements.
The leisure company was given a grant that allowed them to upgrade their visual and technical elements to their visitor heritage attraction, with the works completed in January.
The open day was action-packed and filled with fun activities for young families from long tour and a Viking tour guide, ventured inside the exhibition to be whisked back 1,000 years ago to Norway, into a replica longhouse, with a special message from Odin the Viking warrior at the end.
A mini-Viking-village took over the theatre auditorium, with all-day living history and demonstrations, and exciting Viking re-enactment performances from The Glasgow Vikings.
The event proved to be so popular that a second date is on the cards later on in the year.
Michael Thompson from Vikingar! told the News: "We also offered foam Viking axe throwing, using the Viking game on our multi-ball screen, and encouraged people to take part in the Valhalla gym challenge.
"We also invited re-enactors from The Glasgow Vikings, Amber Othala from Edinburgh, The Society of John De Graeme from Falkirk, The Largs Viking Festival and Clan Hunter.
"The atmosphere and buzz was incredible on Saturday. Everyone enjoyed their day out – Including the staff. I am beyond proud of my team at Vikingar! as everyone done incredible.
"Due to the huge success of our event, we are looking at a date between September-November 2024 for our next Viking Big Day!"
