Proposals have been lodged for a new Indian restaurant in the heart of Kilmarnock.

Mr Sukdev Mall, of Glasgow Developments Ltd, has applied for a change of use at 85-89 King Street from vacant offices to an Indian restaurant and takeaway.

The ground floor has been used by a succession of shops over the years, with the upper floors mostly left vacant.

Planning documents show a restaurant for around 36 people, alongside toilets and kitchens on the ground floor.

The upper floors would contain a mixture of offices, toilets and games rooms, with an external stairway running up the building.

The full application can be viewed on East Ayrshire Council's planning portal with reference 24/0025/PP.
