Winton Rovers 3 Largs Thistle 1

Thistle suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of Winton - two divisions below - and could have few complaints about the final score.

Winton had the best early opportunity as Ryan Caddis eluded a challenge but struck the side netting after cutting in from the left.
The opener arrived on 19 minutes as Glenn Thomson's high corner from the left was finished neatly by Nicky Jamieson with a glancing header.
Left winger Matt Bennett was showing some crafty touches but had to leave the field to injury to be replaced by Alan Gilbride.
Winton's equaliser had a measure of luck as a wayward pass was deflected into the path of Munro who was denied by keeper Graham, ex-Largs Academy striker Harry Donaldson nearly scored against his home town team with a curling rebound off the post before Munro made sure at the third time of asking. The leveller came on 35 minutes.
Ryan Caddis's 20 yard stinging drive had to be beaten away by Graham in the Largs goal as Winton grew in confidence.
Rovers took a 47th minute lead as Tan dodged a challenge to sidefoot the ball past the outrushing Graham.
The Largs keeper had to look lively to deny  Munro's half volley from 12 yards after good build up from Winton.
Jamie McDonald cued up Robert Love but the ex-Talbot player didn't have enough purchase on his lob which was easily saved.
McMaster went close with a header but the Winton keeper Mullen blocked the effort on 63 minutes.
Gary Fleming had a good opening to equalise as Mullen was caught well off his line but his chip from the right wing hit the side netting.
It was nearly curtains for Thistle as Donaldson was through but mis-connected with a header on 75 minutes.
Player boss Bryan Slavin came on for the final minutes, with Marks nearly breaking through, but despite the Largs pressure, Rovers managed to move 3-1 up on 89 minutes as David McNeil rounded keeper Graham to stroke the ball home.
So, another good start for Largs evaporates and Thistle now face an uphill challenge to move out of the section.
