Kilwinning U19s 1 Largs Thistle U19s 2
It was a case of Cesur Chakar’s “Turkish Delight” as he twice made the difference for Thistle U19s in recent matches.
Largs won a penalty early in the game when the industrious Adam-P McKeen was fouled in the box, Ross Colquhoun’s powerful shot beating the keeper 1-0.
With the clock ticking and with ten minutes left Kilwinning’s pressure paid off with a scrappy shot that hit the inside off the post and went into the net 1-1.
Largs brought on substitute Cesur Chakar and within minutes latched onto a precision pass through to him by Ross MacColl , he found himself with only the keeper to beat and he fired his shot passed the keeper to make it 2-1 to Thistle much to the delight of the Largs team and support.
Well done to all the players and in particular the defensive unit including goalkeeper Murray’s saves, and of course Cesur Chakar providing the “Turkish Delight” moment of a winning goal!

Thistle were quick on the attack with Adam-P-McKeen hitting the post within the first minute. Cesar Chakar held the ball up well on the right wing and passed to Neil Jones who cut the ball back across the box and into the path of Lloyd Dicks who slotted home the first goal of the game on 25 minutes.
Cesar Chakar had a shot on goal which was saved by the goal keeper but Neil Jones reacted well and followed up on the loose ball to make it 2-0 on 30 minutes. Thistle's defence gave away an unnecessary free kick, resulting in a headed goal to make it 2-1.
Next it was Cesar Chakar’s turn to hit the post, but Renfrew counter attacked quickly catching out the Thistle defence and managed to equalise right on the half time 2-2.
Ross Colquhoun’s tight angled shot then clipped the near post.
The second half saw Thistle have many attempts on goal, before Craig McGill sent the ball from his half into the feet of Lloyd Dicks who turned the Renfrew defender, but was brought down inside the penalty area. Jay Little converted, 3-2 Thistle. Jack Petrie then came on for the tiring Jones on the left hand side of midfield. Ross McColl also came on replacing Ethan Reid to give strength and height in the defence.
The visitors equalised, but Thistle's Chakar scored another last minute winner to secure the team's third win in a row.
