Largs Thistle U19s 7 Whitacres U19’s 1

Thistle are sitting top of the Paisley, Johnstone and District League after notching their seventh win in a row on Saturday.

The first goal was well made by an excellent pass from Adam Ogilvie which found Ross Colquhoun whose diagonal shot beat the opposition goalkeeper.

Thistle had to replace Caleb Reid with Jack Petrie who was only on the pitch ten minutes when he curled a fine left footed shot high into the net. The third goal came following good work by Jay Little whose shot was spilled by the keeper, and Adam Paterson –McKeen followed up.

Thistle’s fourth was a well worked goal starting from a run from defence by Ross McColl passing to Jack Petrie, who found the hard working Jay Little who finished a great team move off by scoring. Ross Colquhoun then hit the post with a long range shot, and Lloyd Dicks came close but was caught offside. Largs goalkeeper Calum Murray was rarely called into action but did have to produce a marvellous full stretch fingertip save just before half-time.

Largs brought on all their subs Ryan Evans, Lewis Gardiner, McElroy, and the welcome return of Jack Rafferty returning from injury. Within ten minutes of the restart Adam Paterson-McKeen scored his second goal by chipping the ball cutely over the keeper.

Whitletts pulled a goal back, but Largs were awarded a free kick outside the box and up stepped “Rossiniho Colquhoun” who blasted the ball high into the roof of the net.

Goal number seven was started by defender Craig McGill whose long pass found Adam Ogilvie who delicately chipped the ball over the goalkeeper into the net. A game that Largs won comfortably, and are a Team playing good football and getting results.
