A new lottery is launching this week in a bid to raise funds for Largs’ semi-professional football club.

All fans and friends of the Largs Thistle Football Club are invited to join in the Largs Thistle Lottery.

The first draw is on Monday, February 12 and fans should sign up before 11:59pm on Wednesday, January 31 to guarantee entry.

A club spokesperson said: “The Largs Thistle Lottery is an exciting new venture for Largs Thistle.

"For many years we organise fundraising across the season. This includes the 200 Club, golden goal and Christmas raffle.

“The Largs Thistle Lottery is different. It runs throughout the year. And it grows as more members join.

“Each month, half of what the lottery raises is for you to win. So, if there’s 100 members you win £500, and £600 if there’s 120 members.

“Not only do you have a great chance of winning big prizes, but you’ll also raise vital funds for your club. Ensure your local team’s future.”

For £10 per month, players can win 50% of that month’s membership income. Entry is via standing order with memberships due on the first of every month.

Players can either arrange this through their bank or via their mobile banking app or online. For an application form, visit www.largsthistle.info/lottery. Please return this to Largs Thistle by emailing lottery@largsthistle.info.

Standing orders must be set for account name Largs Thistle Football Club, sort code 83 – 24 – 15 and account number 00239370.

Those must include the reference LOTTO and the player’s surname and first initial of their first name. An example being LOTTO SmithA. Players must be aged 18 or older.

The promotor of the Largs Thistle Lottery is Paul Laing. The lottery is registered with North Ayrshire Council Licensing Board, registration number 294. All draws will feature on the Largs Thistle website and winners will be contacted within five days of each draw.

Largs play at Barrfields Stadium on Brisbane Road. They compete in the West of Scotland Premier Division.

Long term plans for Largs Thistle include gaining Scottish Football Association Club Licensing. This would allow Largs to enter the Scottish FA Cup and play teams such as Rangers, Celtic and Greenock Morton.
