A goalless draw against Benburb for Largs on Saturday was probably a fair result.

It was not a great game to watch. There was a blow to Benburb before the game even started when their striker Declan McDonald injured his hamstring in the warm up and had to be replaced.

In the first half I thought the Bens did have the better chances, although Largs did have the ball in the net through Scott Adam, but he was ruled offside.

If Largs had scored their penalty in the second half, the game may a taken off a little, but it wasn't to be. The Bens nearly nicked it at the end but Lewis Lovering headed over. I think both managers will look on this as a point gained rather than two dropped.

Elsewhere, I am hearing that a meeting of the WoSFL clubs last week mention was made of “financial fair play”. If implemented I would have no idea how that could be monitored.

This week's big surprise is Jurgen Klopp leaving Liverpool at the end of this season. I bet the club's supporters thought he was there for life.

He has been a great manager for Liverpool, winning everything. I have no reason to doubt the reasons he gave, but I wonder if the German national job comes up after the Euros, would he take that? Or could he be tempted by Barcelona now that Xavi is leaving there?

I am sure he will miss the dressing room banter and camaraderie, and in my opinion you can’t replicate that anywhere else. He would be a loss to football if he does not take on another role.

It’s special being the manager of a football club but it can physically and mentally take it out of you no matter what level you manage at. Twenty-three years as a football manager is a long time.

It really is a 24-7 job. You never stop thinking about how you improve your team, what formation you will play, are the training sessions doing what you want them to do, are the players buying in to your vision? All these things and more go through your mind.

So who is next in line to manage Liverpool? It really is hard getting the correct manager for a top club like Liverpool. Look at the problems Manchester United have had since Sir Alex left.
